Overview

Yandex.Run was a concept for a running music service that matched music tempo to the runner's live cadence. I designed it in 2016 during Yandex's School of Mobile Design, and it was piloted internally at Yandex with real users — though never publicly released.

The School took participants from an idea through to launch; in the second stage, teams carried out a joint project with managers and developers. Our project set out to find product-market fit for a new service built on the radio-streaming technology behind Yandex.Music. I was the sole designer on the team and owned the design end to end — concept, UI, motion, and brand. The defining call: track the runner's cadence live and let the music follow it, rather than serve fixed-tempo playlists picked by pace band before the run.

Piloted inside Yandex, never released: the concept ran as a working prototype.
