This company exemplifies a perfect demand-driven supply chain strategy appropriate for the current market. The market where this firm operates is highly competitive. Supply chain management is handling the entire production flow of a good or service — starting from the raw components to delivering the final product to the consumer.
PepsiCo recently got budget approval to work on a solution that helps supply chain teams to easily collect, transport and deliver finished goods from its distribution centres to end customer facilities — small shops, supermarkets, restaurants, etc.
The project's main goal was to design a concept of a responsive product that minimizes costs by optimizing the production circle and helps employees achieve their goals during the supply chain management process.
Supply chain management represents an effort by suppliers to develop and implement supply chains that are as efficient and economical as possible. Supply chains cover everything from production to product development to the information systems needed to direct these undertakings.
My focus of this project was to cover the already existing process, starting from manufacturing to retail. It meant that I had to consider the whole worker flow from the moment they received information about the items to ship to the end of the delivery process. And for investigating the process I conducted a several interviews with warehouse employees and people related to the delivery process.
